Job Description

Role Description: The Category Manager tasks include:
– Collaborate with *** teams and leverage supplier market landscape to develop an optimal outsourcing strategy and execute competitive agreements
– Leverage agile contract management best practice, along with an understanding of clinical sourcing, and in close collaboration with business partners and in compliance with sourcing strategies for R&D categories of service, to address business needs with suppliers
– Establish relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the highest service level
– Understand business needs
– Develop and leverage RFX methodology in compliance with the sourcing strategy
– Guide project teams through the sourcing process and give appropriate suggestions and advice on the best approach / best practices
– Facilitate evaluation of potential vendors through effective bidding process & capabilities presentations
– Negotiate and implement competitive commercial conditions with suppliers/CROs
– Facilitate the contracting process through full execution in collaboration with business partners
– Monitor performance and follow-up on remediation plans
– Negotiate new and amended work specifications, budgets, payment schedules, and other documents that control the activities and performance of contract service providers
– Escalate issues in a timely manner and support issue resolution to ensure study timelines and deliverables
– Work collaboratively across the Sourcing Strategy and Execution team to ensure business needs are being met and all levels of engagement from this team are connected
– Support assigned categories as well as provide overflow / backup support across the execution team to ensure consistent work output for business stakeholders
– Provide regular updates and reports
Qualifications/Experience:
– BA degree
– 10+ years in Sourcing/Procurement or vendor management in the pharma industry
– Previous experience working with CROs and other key clinical service providers
