Job Description

The Program Release Manager will support developing and implementing an SDLC to validate and provide governance to program releases directly related to Clinical IT. The releases are driven within a strategic program established to enhance key capabilities identified as essential in building a better and stronger clinical data platform. This position supports one or more of these initiatives. It supports the macro-level integrated plan supporting one of three primary workstreams while interfacing with various scrum teams in addressing business needs in organizational support, process improvement, enabling technology solutions, change management, and others.

The purpose of this position will be to support the program by

  • Leading macro-level activities supporting the program management office, including, but not limited to:
    • Validation of each release
    • Lead strategy
    • Orchestration and execution
    • Support of communication and change management needs
    • Continuous improvement
  • Working with and within cross-functional scrum teams to ensure that they are in alignment with project/assignment goals
  • Communicating and escalating issues, challenges, and risks to sponsors, team leads, and leadership as required on time.
  • Creating crisp agendas for meetings, maintaining succinct and clear meeting notes, managing MS Teams channels for projects
  • Delegating tasks on the project to team members best positioned to complete them
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Presenting to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Communicating with stakeholders to keep the project aligned with their goals
  • Performing validation and governance for each release throughout delivery to maintain the standards expected
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
  • Implementing and managing change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluating and assessing the results of the project

Qualification and Skills

  • Experience working in the Life Sciences industry is a must. Knowledge of the Clinical Research domain is preferred.
  • Large-scale IT and Business transformation experience, with the focus on release management
  • 5+ years experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Must have strong, current program management skills and experience managing projects across multiple geographies
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence a wide variety of stakeholders, with experience working across cultures and hierarchical boundaries
  • Project management qualification (PMP) preferred
  • Strong MS Project skills are a must
  • Problem-solving and facilitation skills
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Critical and analytical thinking to connect the dots, proactively anticipate issues and mitigate risks. Lateral thinker
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must have excellent people skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to build strong relationships with teams/executives
  • Must have the experience of having worked in a matrixed organization with the ability to lead and influence teams and stakeholders
  • Must have a demonstrable understanding of managing change and governance
  • Scrum experience is preferred
