The Contract Project Manager will support initiatives and assignments related to Clinical IT. The initiatives are driven within a strategic program established to enhance key capabilities identified as essential in building a better and stronger clinical data platform. This position supports one or more of these initiatives. It supports the macro-level integrated plan supporting one of three primary workstreams while interfacing with various scrum teams in addressing business needs in organizational support, process improvement, enabling technology solutions, change management, and others.
The purpose of this position will be to support the program by
- Leading macro-level activities supporting the program management office, including, but not limited to:
- Facilitating teams and deliverables, ensuring timely communication and control of all assigned projects
- Preparation of plans and periodic status reports as needed
- Educating teams on specific business methodologies/tools
- Support of project communication needs
- Continuous improvement of the entire program
- Working with and within cross-functional scrum teams to ensure that they are in alignment with project/assignment goals
- Supporting team leaders as a tactical planner and coordinator for process and technology solutions, timeline creation, resource assessment, risk management, estimation, budget development, etc.
- Communicating and escalating issues, challenges, and risks to sponsors, team leads, and leadership as required on time.
- Creating crisp agendas for meetings, maintaining succinct and clear meeting notes, managing MS Teams channels for projects
- Delegating tasks on the project to team members best positioned to complete them
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
- Presenting to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
- Communicating with stakeholders to keep the project aligned with their goals
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development/operations to maintain the standards expected
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
- Implementing and managing change when necessary to meet project outputs
- Evaluating and assessing the results of the project
Qualification and Skills
- Experience working in the Life Sciences industry is a must. Knowledge of the Clinical Research domain is preferred.
- Large scale IT and Business transformation experience
- 5+ years experience with Jira and Confluence
- Must have strong, current project management skills and experience managing projects across multiple geographies
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence a wide variety of stakeholders, with experience working across cultures and hierarchical boundaries
- Project management qualification (PMP) preferred
- Strong MS Project skills are a must
- Problem-solving and facilitation skills
